About Us

About Us

Kent based MKA Architects has built a reputation for original and high quality design since its formation in 1985. Our Kent based team aim to design and create high quality spaces and buildings which enrich and inspire you.

We are experienced in working in a wide range of sectors including commercial, education, housing (private and multi-unit) and public buildings anywhere from rural spaces to city centres.

With extensive knowledge in the field of planning, we have negotiated planning permissions within the Green Belt and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs). In addition, we have experience working with listed buildings of all grades in design and planning and also construction.

Our approach to design innovation is to work closely with all partners and stakeholders through every stage of the project, to evaluate each site and opportunity individually, to identify each unique opportunity and to develop its potential.

We have developed close relationships with Local Planning Authorities in and around Kent and the home counties and work with many partners in the field of Planning and Local Authority Development Control.

With every project, we set ourselves the goal of achieving the highest standards of architecture, believing that good design creates good working and living environments, promotes good social interaction, and therefore has the potential to improve lives.

In addition to our design, planning and management skills, MKA Architects are committed to improving the quality of our built environment and as a consequence have been part of design competitions and award judging panels and have been represented on the South East Regional Design Panel (SERDP) and Kent Design Future (KDF) Enabling Team.
