Planning- We are here to help!
Are you working from home? Trying to negotiate the challenges of a work life balance, while working at the kitchen table, trying to cook dinner and oversee the kid’s homework?!
Many people are starting to evaluate what the future looks like. We have seen enquiries increase for home extensions and internal alterations to utilise living/ working space.
new planning enquiries

Our Planning Consultants have also had an increase in their Planning Appraisal leads, working with clients who have complicated planning constraints such as living in a Conservation Area or in a Listed Building and trying to navigate planning polices to achieve their brief and who are looking for outline advice on what planning opportunities are out there for them.
We are pleased to report that throughout lockdown and various working restrictions due to Government Guidelines, we have continued to work throughout 2020 while maintaining our close relationships with Councils. This has meant that planning applications and pre-app submissions have continued to be assessed and granted within the relevant time frames, which has been promising.
don’t be scared of the planning process

Many clients can be intimidated by the whole process, but there is no need: Any change you make to your home is a big investment and obviously needs a great deal of consideration, but we can help you look at all angles so that we can get the best out of your property and future proof it.
Not all house alterations require planning permission, some can be achieved via Permitted Development. Also, don’t be afraid of planning regulations or Building Control, as we are here to guide you every step of the way, creating an environment where there is no such thing as a ‘stupid question’ we are here to help!
successful planning applications

We were contacted by a client at the end of August regarding just this matter and we are pleased to report that after some consideration regarding permitted development, whether to proceed with a planning application or gain a Lawful Development Certificate, we will soon be granted Planning Permission within the coming weeks. We will continue to work through Building Regulations with them to ensure a smooth transition as they go into the building phase of their project.
Such projects do not always require extensive visualisation or 3D modelling to achieve planning permission. In the world of planning these are considered relatively simple applications, have been streamlined accordingly, and can often be determined within an 8-week process deadline.
